Duck Cottage is a delightful barn which has recently been converted into a luxury cottage for two people retaining many of the old features. The cottage is a part of the Alltybrain farmyard and is situated 4½ miles from the historic market town of Brecon. Duck cottage is in a rural area and is surrounded by stunning Welsh countryside and has fabulous views from every window. Comfortably furnished and with a choice of either a super king-size or two generous single beds, this excellently equipped ground floor cottage provides a delightful home-from-home retreat. Guests can relax in the spacious living room or in the garden/patio area complete with furniture and BBQ and enjoy the views towards the Brecon Beacons. Both the bedroom and living room have French windows leading out onto the sunny patio area. The cottage is fully centrally heated and even during the coldest Winter months Guests can enjoy looking at the spectacular views towards the Brecon Beacons through the large living room window whilst relaxing and being cosy in front of the wood burning stove. Duck Cottage has Sky TV, DVD, Video player and a Hi Fi System. For those that need to stay in touch there is good mobile telephone reception. The open plan kitchen has a dishwasher, washing/drying machine, fridge, freezer, micro-wave, electric hob and oven. The Tariff includes electricity, heating, linen/towels and wood for the Stove.

The village pub is within easy walking distance although currently closed is due to re-open in December, the popular Cradoc Golf Club is 3 miles away and there is access to public footpaths from the cottage with an abundance of wildlife, flora, fauna and many different kinds of unusual birds to observe. The Brecon Beacons National Park’s Visitor Centre is just two miles from Brecon and t he Brecon Tourist Information Centre can be found in the main car park in Brecon town centre. Fishing on the rivers Usk or Wye, horse riding lessons or trekking, Red kite watching, visiting the Dan-yr-Ogof Caves, Coal mines, Raglan Castle and Aberglasney gardens are just some of the many activities and Welsh attractions to visit. Hay-on-Wye, which is famous for its book shops and The Hay Literary Festival which is held every year in May is just a half-hour drive away. Brecon Jazz Festival is held each year in August as is The Royal Welsh Show in Builth Wells, just 12 miles away. Brecon Farmers’ Market is held every second Saturday of the month.
