This charming romantic cottage is 4½ miles from the historic market town of Brecon and situated in a beautiful position set back from the yard at Alltybrain Farm. The 200 year old stone holiday cottage has been tastefully renovated and has a Five Star Grading Award from the Welsh Tourist Board.
Damson Cottage is a private place with its own orchard and a stream meandering through the garden area that is very popular with the Alltybrain Farm ducks! Every window of the cottage has a beautiful view of stunning Welsh countryside and the cottage offers a peaceful retreat for two people wanting a memorable holiday. Damson cottage has an old flagged stone floor and retains many features from the original cow house. There is a wood burning stove in the sitting area with a comfortable sofa, two armchairs and a colour TV, DVD and Hi-Fi System. French windows open out into the garden area that has garden furniture and a BBQ during the summer months. The dining area has a table and chairs and the open plan kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, freezer, micro-wave, electric cooker, dishwasher, and a washing/drying machine. The cottage is fully centrally heated and the wood burning stove makes the cottage very snug in the winter months. There is a plentiful supply of logs kept in the near-by pig cot where guests can also store their bicycles and walking boots.
The bedroom is upstairs and is light and spacious with a king-size bed and superb views. The bathroom has a bath with power shower and mixer tap, the hand basin has a light with shower socket above it.
All linen, towels, electricity and wood for the stove are included in the Tariff.
The village pub is in easy walking distance; the popular Cradoc Golf Club is 3 miles away and for those keen on exploring the surrounding hills and countryside there is access to public footpaths from the cottage with plenty of wildlife, wild flowers, and birds, including red-kite to observe. The Brecon Beacons National Park’s Visitor Centre is just two miles from Brecon and the Brecon Tourist Information Centre can be found in the main car park in Brecon town centre. Fishing on the rivers Usk or Wye, horse riding lessons or trekking, visiting The Red-Kite Station, The Dan-yr-Ogof Caves, Craig y Nos Castle, Powis Castle, or the wonderful Aberglasney gardens are just some of the many activities and Welsh attractions to see. The famous book town of Hay-on-Wye is only 15 miles and Cardiff and Swansea to the south are about an hours drive away.
Damson Cottage is an idyllic holiday cottage for two people wishing to enjoy a country holiday in a romantic rural setting.
